FanDuel Sportsbook "Version 2"

In 2018 FanDuel launched it's Sportsbook product, quickly becoming one of the highest rated apps in the US sportsbetting market. Shortly after launch work began on a replacement, a next generation product, designed from the ground up as a native application, built upon in-house tech.

In 2021 the product launched to great user response, and over the year helped to cement FanDuel's position as the number 1 Sportsbook in the US.

Role: Design Lead.
Team: Will Loveland, Luke O'Sullivan, Paul Elliot and Erin Bannerman.

Full case study in progress.

2018/v1 product (left) built as a wrapped web app, and v2 (right) designed and built from the ground up as a native app.
The project started from the ground up, including setting out a vision for the product, defining the information architecture and the fundamental user experience and philosophies that would underpin every user interaction.
One of the keys to the product's success is the ability for users to place bets from anywhere in the application, Fast Bet (right) appears when users make their first selection. Users can place a bet without ever leaving where they are in the app.
For more complex bets, like Same Game Parlay, the Betslip was designed to be as simple as possible for users to understand. It has to be clear what is about to happen when the users taps the place bet button, there must not be any surprises.
When designing the My Bets experience we intended to keep as much similarity to how their bet was shown in the Betslip.
