– branding, web
The Xbox Racing Driver's Club was created to give the more serious racers on Microsoft's Xbox Live service a place to call home and to run championships on the various sim racing games on the Xbox 360.
I was brought onto the project very early in the site's life and was tasked with creating a website that would power the community for years to come and would give the staff a solid foundation to run the various championships which were planned. I opted to use Silverstripe as the basis for the site's backend – the extensibility of the system proved to be a key part in the site's early success with the site's staff able to update the site immediately after every race.
The site went through a shift in staff at the start of 2010 and with it the site has moved away from Silverstripe to a basic forum system.
